When Was the Last Time You Updated Your Bio? by Vikram Rajan

{1:49 minutes to read} “I didn’t know you did that” is one of the first ideas for prompting articles on BlogBrainstormer.com. Very often your clients may not realize all the services your practice offers. You may look at your bio when you redesign a website or start a LinkedIn account; otherwise, you may not actually read your public bio for a long time.

We actually make it very easy for your phoneBlogger.net editor to help you update your bio. Your “Master Checklist” has a very handy checklist in the “Bio Template” tab; there are 9 quick questions that you can easily fill out as a form. You can provide it to us as a Word document or a Google Doc, and we’ll shape it up into a bio that’s great for your website and LinkedIn profile. It can easily be truncated by a host or an MC when they introduce you at a speaking presentation.

The Bio Template is purposely arranged in order of what we feel is important:

1. Profession/Credentials + Target Markets = What You Do For Whom “1-liner”

2. Media References / Quotations / By-lines

3. Speaking Engagements / Hosted or Invited

4. Awards / Quantifiable Results / Public Achievements

5. VIP References / Testimonials

6. Educational Background & Professional Memberships

7. Past professional experience and/or Personal Anecdote (turning points / personal “why”)

8. Values & Charities (Active Memberships)

9. Other Personal (Where you live, Family life, Notable hobbies, Pets, etc.)

We always like to end bios with something of a personal nature to give a sneak peek behind what makes you tick. It’s nice to know about where you live, your family life, notable hobbies, or your pets, like what we do for our staff at phoneBlogger.net/team. If you would like to see examples for each of these 9 questions, feel free to email me at vik@phoneBlogger.net. I’d be happy to share them with you.
